JDWrightBrain
I'm trying to setup a workflow where I can work on Photo files on my desktop, save to a server and open on my iPad so I can use the pencil for drawing effects. I have a shared folder and can easily save my files to that. Then I can connect to the shared folder with my iPad and see the files. But if the files get over a certain size it crashes the Photo app when I open it. Files around 10MB seem fine. It's when they get around 15 to 75MB with layers, I have issues. The files DO open when I restart the app and they are there in the gallery. I'm using Photo 2.0.1.307 on an iPad Pro 11 inch/3rd generation/ running 16.1.1 It doesn't happen with Designer
DM1
Possibly the large files are downloading too slowly? Even so, Photo definitely shouldn’t be crashing. If you download the files from shared folder to an iPad folder then use Affinity to open them do you still have a problem? Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). Staff Lee D Posted November 22, 2022 Staff Share Posted November 22, 2022 @JDWrightBrain as well as what @DM1 advised, is your server cloud based, if so which? As I've been moving files between Desktop (macOS & Windows) and iPad, large and small without issues, editing and saving along the way using both Dropbox and iCloud.
