The perspective tool is far to clumsy in certain use cases.

often I want to correct a skewed image with help of a known rectangular object.

all I want to do

  1. source mode: mark the 4 corners of a known rectangular area (which is perspectively distorted)
  2. switch to destination mode
  3. Photo creates a default perspective layer based on minimum or maximum of corner positions
  4. Photo shows the result
  5. i can adjust the edges in dest mode to taste to correct overall aspect ratio
  6. affinity shows the size (in pixel and selectable measurement units) and aspect ratio of the resulting area in info panel while I adjust

Goodby Forum, thanks for good discussion and so much support from great peers and Affinity staff. It was a great pleasure to be part of this fantastic community.

I also support this request.  I'm trying to get rid of Adobe and the only feature I need from Lightroom that AP2 does have is their Guided Upright correction.
