Publisher, insert hyperlink

Recommended Posts

v1 behaviour was to have the URL field pre-loaded from the paste buffer.  This was spot-on.  v2 behaviour is to pre-load the URL field with whatever was selected in the document.  While I can see how some would like that, I don't.

Please at least add the paste buffer's contents as a choice in the URL field drop-down!

Further, please ensure it's always the top choice (so automations via Alfred, BetterTouch, etc. can work).

It's worse than that. I wanted to use a link within a site (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/), but just have creativecommons.org in the text.

But Publisher 2.0.0 keeps changing the URL back to "creativecommons.org". I can edit the hyperlink. I can delete the hyperlink and insert a new one. I can restart Publisher. I just cannot get it to let me do something perfectly rational.

And yes, I preferred the default-to-clipboard behavior described by Dampsquid as well.

I can't duplicate this. When is it changing the URL back? I typed a sentence with creativecommons.org in it and hyperlinked it to the full URL you gave and then checked it and it was still the full URL. I couldn't get it to mess up.

Thanks
