monkeydom Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 In V1 colors would live update during the "Edit Fill…" process of a color. With V2 the change is only visible after dismissing the color picker. Which seems inconvenient. Is there a setting to get back to the old behavior that I am missing? I do have multiple documents with global colors in them. I want to keep them in sync, but also have multiple different palettes and version around. I tried import and export of colors, but that would just rename those global colors, so I had to manually sync them again. Is there any way to update a list of global colors from a exported palette so i could e.g. have multiple different variants of the palette to easily switch directly without having to Edit Fill… manually on all the colors? Thank you for your time, -dom
Staff EmT Posted November 18, 2022 Staff Posted November 18, 2022 Hi @monkeydom I'm just trying to recreate your first point, are you using Mac or Windows? Just to clarify on your second point, are you saying that the global colour names are not saved when imported into v2 or that different colours with the same names are not being imported? EricP Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 I'm experiencing the same issue (first point) on Mac in V2. Steps : create a global color assign it to an object right click (ctrl click) on global color swatch, choose "edit fill" adjust sliders, the object colour does not change close sliders pop up, the object color gets updated To get a "live update" while adjusting global color, I need to go to the color panel and click "Edit Global Colour". There the colour is updated while adjusting the sliders. The expectation was that edit fill would work similarly
EricP Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 Another issue found with V2.0 on mac is loosing the global colors suddenly. I had created and assigned about 6 global colors and was able to adjust them to my taste. Then, after switching to AP (by using the edit in AP in file menu) and back to AD, I noticed my document palette containing them was empty, loosing the ability to tweak global colors. Steps to reproduce : create document palette and global color assign global color to object edit file in AP edit file in AD the document palette is empty
EricP Posted December 28, 2022 Posted December 28, 2022 Both issues seem to have been fixed in 2.0.3. Thank you Serif team
