gnx
Hi. Will Affinity V2 have a native Linux version? Cheers! cyber_shut, Casual User, Fion Noir and 3 others
walt.farrell
It certainly doesn't have one today, and Serif have said they have no plans for a Linux version right now. gnx 1 -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. iPad: iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 17.4.1, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sonoma 14.4.
AlexanderDeLarge
"All platforms" Not until we have Linux support which was definitely a popular request last time around. The community even got Photo 1.8 working through Wine/Bottles but now the MSIX installer is screwing up progress towards Affinity 2 suite on Linux. . mpgarate
I got my hopes up for a second after seeing that "All Platforms" text. Would have happily bought v2 right away if there was linux support!
Foucault
A Linux version would be great. But it seems that Affinity has a deal with Apple. If only they wouldn't call it a Universal License...
Mark Ingram
It's nothing to do with Apple. We haven't implemented a Linux version because there simply isn't enough support for it. I realise that's not a satisfying answer for Linux fans (which I count myself as one), but take a look at the thread linked above, 136 votes of support for Affinity on Linux. It means we would never recover our engineering costs from developing a Linux version. Wollhut, pigeon, Fion Noir and 2 others 1 1
