Cannot install Publisher 2

Recommended Posts

I am getting an error message.  I can't use the program if it is incompatible with the windows version I use, ie the same windows version I have used for years with affin Photo, pub, designer, etc.  Why can't you just use a .exe file like you always have.  I have spent 3 hours trying to get the .msix installer to work, now it just refuses.

The error message in spanish but you get the gist, easy to see what they are saying.  Can't install the aff pub file because it is incompatible with my earlier version of windows 10. As I say I have no problem running version 1 and all the updates.   Please let me know if this is fixable, or I will just keep using the version one programs. I didn't know you would require new versions of windows for version 2.

(0x80073cfd)

Well  it says Version 1803 (Compilacion SO 17134.112) so it's april 2018.  Anyway here I am working away in Pub 1, photo, etc, as we speak, but version 2 won't even install. All of the previous ver 1 programs and updates are easy to install exe files.

Topaz just did basically the same thing, here I am working away in topaz sharp and the new version can't be installed because it takes the latest graphics card and 32 ram.  I think developers are failing to see that much of the world does not have access to the latest of everything.  By the time hardware gets down here to SA on the market it's 3 years old, and costs three times as much.

Anyway, thanks,  I'll wait to see if the programs can be installed in some version other than with the .msix app, or I'll just work on the old programs.

They can't.  The MSIX is the new installer for Affinity and this won't be changing.  It is just a simple case of running Windows update on your current PC and installing the updates for Windows 10 and you'll be able to run Version 2.  There is no need to buy new hardware or update to Windows 11.  We take advantage of certain features provided by the operating system, in this case Windows and those features aren't present in older versions of Windows 10.

I cannot install the Affinity 2 either.
I have the latest Windows 11 Pro, and an adequate machine with plenty of resources.
Says this...
Reason:
App installation failed with error message: error 0x80070005: Opening the package from location affinity-publisher-2.0.0.msix failed. (0x80070005)

The installer simply refuses to run

I did not try to install Designer 2 or Photo 2, because I don't want to screw up my V1 suite, if Publisher can't be installed.

I have sent an email and am waiting to hear what the answer is.

I have the same problem, this is what it says:

Solicita al desarrollador un nuevo paquete de aplicación. Es posible que este paquete entre en conflicto con otro instalado, que dependa de cosas que no están instaladas (dependencias de paquetes) o que esté hecho para una arquitectura diferente. (0x80073CF3)

My Window version is 22H2 (compilación de SO 1945.2251)

Where can I find the Version 1 of Affinity?

You will need to update Windows to a newer version of Windows 10. Is there some reason you're staying on a Windows release that is 4 years out of date?
