tomaust
Since I and also Win10 did not know how to deal with a msix file, I just unzipped it to a location of my choice. This works, but it seems that is not the usual way !?. Are there any problems with this method ? ESPR and selenita 1
af-user
There are problems and change the way the software behaves, so be careful. You should be able to just doubleclick the msix file, it should start an app installer. if not, the file assosiation might be missing for whatever reason? Support should be able to assist. Details: manual extraction does not rename some resource folders, leading to missing page templates like a4 a3 etc for example. Second it us not running in sandbox mode and storing files in different lications than it would normally do! selenita 1 Quote System Notebook Lenovo P50 CPU: AMD Ryzen 3900x CPU: Intel i7-6700HQ RAM: 64 GB RAM: 32 GB GPU: RTX 3080 TI GPU: NVIDIA Quadro M2000M 4 GB SSD: Samsung 980 PRO 1 TB SSD: Samsung 850 Pro 500GB OS: Windows 11 Edu x64 OS: Windows 10 x64 TFT: 1 x Samsung C49RG94SSU TFT: 2 x Lenovo
tomaust
Hm, after a double click only a small window opens with the question: "how should this file be opened ?"... But thanks anyway! Edited November 9, 2022 by tomaust selenita
Staff Callum Posted November 9, 2022 Staff Share Posted November 9, 2022 Hi Tomaust, Welcome to the forums Sorry to hear you are having issues installing via the MSIX please could you tell me which version of Windows 10 you are using? This might be occurring if you are using a pre 19041 build. If are using 19041 or later it might be worth trying the PowerShell instructions found in the below thread. Thanks C selenita 1 Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
tomaust
Thank you! The version is 22H2, the build is 19045.2251. In the meantime, I downloaded/installed a Windows package installer from the Microsoft Store (hopefully something official !) and it seems to work with that. Nevertheless, I will try the Affinity Suite for the time being in the simply unpacked form and only install the programs properly in case of errors. So far I haven't noticed any misbehavior....
