RosomakPL Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 How to choose the installation directory? I have downloaded the trial version of Designer. During the installation, I did not have the option to choose the installation directory. I have very little space on my C drive. How can I install AD on another drive? Does this problem only occur in the trial version? Is the full version also deficient? After all, this is a basic functionality. Quote
Staff stokerg Posted November 9, 2022 Staff Posted November 9, 2022 Hi @RosomakPL, Please see this FAQ. You'd first need to install Affinity on C and then move it to a different drive. Quote

RosomakPL Posted November 9, 2022 Author Posted November 9, 2022 Ok, thanks for the hint. But why do I have to do it? Why doesn't the installer give this option when such functionality has been standard for decades? Why do you force users to do such strange things? Is the new version of the software written like this installer? I'm starting to worry Quote

We are now using MISX for our installers, which works in a different way to the MSI installers we used for V1 and sadly doesn't give us an option to change the directory at the point of install. RosomakPL Posted November 9, 2022 Author Posted November 9, 2022 it's a huge disappointment. I prefer to have control of where I install applications. If I use the "move" function (Settings > Apps > Apps & Features selecting the Affinity App and clicking Move), will subsequent versions install in the new location or will I have to move everything each time?
