Lindygee Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 (edited) I just update affinity Designer and now I am unable to open and of my designer files. It states they contain elements from an older version. How do I open my documents? Designer should be backwards compatible. How do I find the version to open my files? thomaso Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 Hi @Lindygee, Welcome to the Affinity Forums! Indeed, the apps should be backwards compatible. What platform are you using and what are the two involved AD version numbers? Can you upload a sample .afdesign for a test on a different computer? And a screenshot of this error message? ldecher Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 Hi, I'm having a similar problem, I think. I last opened this file in 2021, but Affinity Designer won't open it now. I'm running Affinity Designer 1.10.5 on a Mac Mini M1 chip OS 12.6. Quote
ldecher Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 I dragged the file to attach it, but it doesn't take it. When I use Get info, it tells me the file is only 4KB. That sounds like I'm sunk. Quote
Dan C Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 Hi @ldecher, Sorry to hear you're having trouble! 49 minutes ago, ldecher said: When I use Get info, it tells me the file is only 4KB Unfortunately it sounds as though significant parts of the file have been lost - though I'd certainly be happy to double check this for you. Can you please upload the document to the below link for me: https://www.dropbox.com/request/jxLEDe7W8qLDhmDAPpSi Once uploaded, please reply here to let me know. Many thanks in advance Quote
