When returning saved photos from affinity photo to adobe Lightroom there is an extremely long wait time

Recommended Posts

Mac OS 12.6 on M1 Max, affinity photo 1.10.5, adobe Lightroom v12, camera raw v15. When sending photos into Affinity photo from adobe Lightroom there is no delay at all but when saving files in Affinity photo to send back to Adobe Lightroom it takes almost 10 minutes per save file to show back up. On older apple machines with previous Mac OS I haven't run into this issue and sending files back to Lightroom takes only a few seconds. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi @RUForCereal welcome to the forums,

After testing this on my 12.6 M1 mac, after editing a .DNG file (set to open as a TIFF) in Affinity Photo from LRC did not take longer than a couple of seconds after saving to send back into Lightroom for any of my images. However, there are likely some differences in setup and workflow so more info is needed. Could you possibly provide the below:

  • Screen recording demonstrating the workflow up to the saving issue
  • Sample RAW file where this has been encountered
  • Image of your External Editing settings under Lightroom's Preferences

I can provide a private dropbox for uploading if needed.

Many thanks!

Hi,

Sorry this took so long to get back to. I was on the road at the time of the original post. This one is on the faster end as far as sending back from affinity photo to light room but it still takes a few minutes. Here's a screen recording of what I'm doing as well as the same raw image, light room settings etc.

Trying Affinity Photo 2 to see if it's any better and having the same issue. I'm guessing at this point it's an adobe issue maybe? Still no update for a resolution but if I find something I'll update. Until then I've just been editing my photos painfully slow. (I can get through maybe 10 in a work day where before it was closer to 100)
