Publisher: Applying Styles disables Auto-Correct

I have setup rules in Auto-Correct. As soon as I apply a style on a paragraph or word, auto-correct doesn't work anymore. Why?

Auto-correct is tied to the language setting of the text you choose in the auto-correct dialog screen

If the style you apply is changing the language to none or another language then those auto-correct rules will no longer work

The above is just a guess (untested) but it sounds great

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

Yes, it would work that way.

But note, too, that Autocorrect works only for text you're typing, not text you're pasting. Without more details of the workflow that has the problem, and more details of the text styles and the Autocorrect setup in Preferences, it will be difficult to do anything other than guess at what the perceived problem might be.

i already checked: the language is set right - but apparently in the style preset you need to apply it to all categories - annoying

What "all categories" do you mean?

It is sufficient to set a language in the "Spelling" menu. The options "Hyphenation" and "Typography" aren't required for Autocorrect or may get set to any of the available values, in the Text Style Editor window also to "[No change]". And, if a style is based on a parent style for which the "Spelling" language has been set then "Spelling" remained to "[No change]" works for the child styles, too.

Not sure what you mean by "the style preset", nor by "all categories".

But the Autocorrect options are certainly specified separately for each Language you might be using, if that's what you meant.
