Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

In the application Preferences, General section:

Note, however, that if you try to Save/Export a PSD file, any text will be rasterized. There is no choice about that; creation of PSD files with editable text is simply not supported.

If you purchased directly from Serif, then you have a 14-day return period where you can get your money back. Just email affinityreturns@serif.com to initiate that process.

As I said, if you purchased from Serif you can get your money back. If you purchased elsewhere you'll need to deal with that Store for a refund.

But with those options set, standard text should come in just fine. There may be something else going on. Can you share one of the PSD files you're having trouble with?

Assuming you purchased only Affinity Photo then I'm honestly not sure how/why you paid $80.

@Boneyard

From your screenshot I see you are in Canada, my apologies!  I know the US$ price is lower.

@Boneyard

As @walt.farrellasked earlier, any chance you could attach one of the problem PSD files here for others to test whether they also see the problem and/or might have other ideas to offer?
