voo2 Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 I have been using Affinity Photo (the latest version) for a while. But somehow I managed to unintentionally tilt the Pixel Tool (see screenshot). But I don't know how I did it and how I can get it back.
Staff NathanC Posted October 13, 2022 Staff Posted October 13, 2022 Hi @voo2 welcome to the forums, If you go into the Brushes Panel and double click to select your brush there is a Rotation setting at the bottom in the 'General' Tab, change this to 0% to re-align the brush. voo2 1
voo2 Posted October 13, 2022 Author Posted October 13, 2022 thanks! That helped. Is there any shortcut to do that I used unintentionally? Because I wasn't in this Brush editing dialog.
Staff NathanC Posted October 13, 2022 Staff Posted October 13, 2022 No problem, as far as I'm aware there isn't a shortcut for this setting.

Because I wasn't in this Brush editing dialog. It's likely that you pressed your keyboard's left or right arrow keys (which manually rotate the brush nozzle). As far as I'm aware there isn't a keyboard shortcut key to reset the rotation back to zero, however you could create a new pixel brush preset – based on a new square brush – and then click the preset to reset the brush back to default settings. I am pretty sure there is a setting in the dynamics section for the rotation setting which will allow the use of the arrow keys to change the rotation. Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

AFAIK, the left & right arrow keys will rotate the brush if the brush's Rotation Jitter is set to none; otherwise, they have no effect. But I do not see any place in the dynamics section that explicitly enables rotating with those keys. This works for me. Rotation set to 100% and Rotation as the choice from the list.
