GreenSWOhio
I am processing a photo of Andromeda Galaxy. There are several curve adjustment layers involved. this happens on 2 photos (Paintshop Pro handles them w/out a problem). AF freezes when I open one of the files (it is an affinity format file). And for the other photo, it just freezed now. I was following instructions to reduce star size at I'd like to use some of the AF functionality but I am wasting too much time restarting AF. I can provide a sample. Windows/10, current maintenances Dell XPS 8940 / 32GB RAM AF does not seem to autosave my work. So I can't show you the 2nd file. I'll attach the 1st below. Staff Callum Posted October 13, 2022 Staff Share Posted October 13, 2022 Hi GreenSWOhio, Welcome to the forums Please could you go into the apps preferences and provide a screenshot of the entire performance tab? Old Bruce
@GreenSWOhio It is not sufficient to type the @ sign and name you have to choose from the list that will pop up by clicking on the name. @Callum Please see the post above this one. Staff Callum Posted October 19, 2022 Staff Share Posted October 19, 2022 16 hours ago, GreenSWOhio said: @Callum - please see post above. Thx Please could you try disabling Open CL to see if this has any effect on performance? The file you have provided contains a very large number of adjustment layers which is likely the cause of the crash on open as it runs very sluggishly even on my computer. Some of the adjustments seem to be duplicates of each other if they are unnecessary perhaps removing them or flattening them into one layer will improve this files performance. GreenSWOhio
@Callum The layers are subtly different - this is important for the photo I sent. I disabled Open CL and Affinity did not crash. It is counter intuitive to disable performance enhancements when they are most needed.
