ChrisRob
My paint brush has stopped working on masks, normal or inverted. I don't believe I've unintentionally changed any settings. Paint brush works just to paint, eg black. Can I uninstall Affinity Photo and download again to try and resolve the problem? Your help please. Hopefully, that should not be necessary First check you have just the mask layer selected in the Layers panel You are using one of the Basic brushes You do not Have Protect Alpha ticked in the context toolbar Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. Staff NathanC Posted October 11, 2022 Staff Share Posted October 11, 2022 Welcome to the forums @ChrisRob, Along with Ensuring Protect Alpha is unticked along the context toolbar, be sure that the Blend mode option is set to 'Normal' as certain blend modes can prevent painting on masks. If it's none of the previously mentioned, it would be beneficial if you could provide screenshot(s) with your brush selected demonstrating the issue. ChrisRob
Hi Nathan, confirming Protect Alpha is unchecked. Here is screenshot with brush selected. Thanks for your quick feedback. Printscreen brush.docx

ChrisRob
Excellent, changed to brush blend mode to normal and it's working now. Must have changed that by mistake. Many thanks 🙂
