Image into Affinity program

Recommended Posts

I have the main Infinity icon in my Task Bar in addition to some of the retouching options in my Photos Extensions.

How do I get an image from my Photos folder into the main Affinity program on my Task Bar and after retouching in Affinity get the retouched image back into my Photos folder?

Hi Fred Luskin,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

If you want to work with the original Raw images:

Export the RAW file from Apple Photos to a folder of your choice going to menu File ▸ Export ▸ Export Unmodified Original.... Then open it in Affinity Photo (File ▸ Open), edit the image and save in your preferred format. To import it back to Apple Photos go to menu File ▸ Import... and select the file or drag it from the Finder to Apple Photos.

If you want to work with JPG images:
In Affinity Photo go to the Media Browser (View ▸ Media Browser...), double click the image you want to work from the Photos library, edit the image then simply save it. Select Save flattened from the dialog that will appear and the image will be saved back to Apple Photos library.
