Do Affinity Designer got the curvature tool yet?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, years ago I noticed Affinity Designer lacked a feature that has kept me away from using the software.

Has this software got the Curvature tool yet?

Here on this topics you can read the comments explaining what this feature offers:

Node tool is very limited and rigid and simply does not feels right for me, I tried many times, but this software is simply not functional for me without this feature, so I wonder if after 3 years it has been added or not.

You say the curvature tool has been added in the trial version? (I bought this software years ago, and it is still installed on my device, yet I can't locate this feature on the released version).

I don't know what a Curvature Tool is or what it does. So I can't give you any advice. There is a Corner tool and a Contour tool.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.0 | Affinity Photo 2.4.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

The Curvature tool is: https://creativepro.com/curvature-tool-adobe-illustrator/

You click on a start point, then move to where you wish the next node to be place and move the cursor, the line bends and moves, The Pen tool with Rubber band mode turned on is akin to the curvature tool in illustrator.

The person says on that portion of the video what I mean about the property of the curvature tool that AD is completely missing.

  • The pen tool from AI is very similar to the pen tool from AD, (it can do some stuff that the AI curvature tool can do, but its limited to pen tool functions).

  • The Node tool from AD has the property that I meant when I say Curvature tool from AI. As it can interact with the nodes and the lines of the shapes, YET, the anchor points are not interactive nor interactively adjust depending on the movement made with the Node tool, these remain stiff.

As I suggested years ago, the Node tool would be more functional and usable if it had a setting "interact with anchor points, on/off", as for now anchor points remain stiff.
