In the past couple of weeks I've had a really bizarre issue with Designer and sometimes Photo too.  When I try to save a file the progress bar appears but never moves.  It seems to be creating an empty file but that's it.  Activity Monitor shows it taking up 100% of the cpu and I have to force quit although it doesn't register as not responding.

It doesn't crash and I don't get any error message it just sits there sucking up all the CPU power.

I thought maybe it was because iCloud was syncing or I didn't have enough space on my HD but I made space and icloud was not syncing.

This doesn't happen on any other app so it's not a permissions issue.

Please help as I obviously can't do any work until this stops happening.

... so I assume the later is happening here instead. - Which MacOS version & what Apple hardware (Apple silicon or Intel based CPU) do you have in use?

And does the OS event log tell anything here about those occuring system problems etc. here?

☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan
☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.2
