Illustrator Vector-Brushes

5 posts in this topic

Hi,

Herzlichen Dank!

Viele Grüße und ein gutes neues Jahr!

Hi,

I have received a couple of AI files, in which vector brush are included. When I open the file with Affinity designers, these are not displayed. I suspect that brush embedded in AI files are not yet supported by Affinity designer and would like to see this support.

Many thanks!

Greetings and a Happy New Year!

Bump

I agree. There are a ton of .ai brushed I'd like to purchas on Creative Market to use... but they don't seem to work in AD. :(

Should Serif implement this request it may be a while. On the meantime and and regards those brushes available commercially, why not suggest to those creators that they could increase their revenue if they purchased the very inexpensive AD and port their brushes to it?

My computer is a nothing-special Toshiba laptop with unremarkable specs running Windows 10 64-bit.

I posted a question here, but I'd love to know even how to create new vector (pure vector) brushes. Bump for Illustrator brush compatibility.

ianrobertdouglas,

I remember reading a thread with lots of comments from the developers in it and it took me a while to find it but here it is: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/2363-ability-to-create-vector-brushes/?hl=%2Btonyb+%2Bbrushes&p=10222

I never used them much in Illustrator but I did like the Japanese sumi brushes and they were useful in certain situations (for me anyways).
