Next Style Next Level

Can someone please help me to understand these terms. Is next Style the style that follows in the Hierarchy or what comes next in the document? I take it next level means another text style that hangs off this one in the group? Thanks

The following options are available in the Style section of the Edit Text Style dialog:

• Style name—defines the name the text style will use throughout the app.
• Based on—sets the default settings for this style. In a hierarchical sense, the Base on text style is the master style to this subordinate style.
• Next style—for paragraph styles, this determines the text style automatically applied to the following paragraph. This is only activated when you press the when typing text.
• Next level—For multi-level paragraph styles (e.g., those that use 1, 1.1 and 1.1.1 auto-numbering prefixes) this determines the style that is for the subordinate level.
