Color Profile Installation

Recommended Posts

I am a new Affinity user and have just installed it on my Mac (running OSX 12.5.1) I am rating to instal a color profile but it is not visible from the Document Setup menu even after a reboot (see screenshot DucumentSetup.png)

I have placed the .icc file in  /Library/ColorSync/Profiles as instructed (see screenshot SavedFile.png)

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Chris W

Hi @Chris_W

Welcome to the Affinity Forums :)

Sorry to hear you're having trouble! Please see the below FAQ regarding this, where the correct steps you need to use are listed:

I hope this helps!

Thanks Dan,

I installed Affinity Publisher from the Affinity Store, but the folder "/Library/Application Support/Affinity Publisher/profiles/" was not present on my Mac

I created this structure manually (i.e. added 'Affinity Publisher/profiles/' into '/Library/Application Support/'), copied the .icc file into it and re-started Affinity Publisher, but still no visibility of the Color Profile via the document setup option.

Any further ideas?

No problem at all, thanks for letting me know and I'm sorry to hear this!

I can confirm that the Library folder can 'hide' certain files/folders if not opened in a specific manner, and there should be no need to manually create this structure.

I'd recommend deleting the folders you've created, then do the following:

  • Open a Finder window
  • From the top menu bar, select the Go option, revealing a list of folders (Documents, Downloads, Desktop etc)
  • Hold down the Alt key, with this menu expanded - you should now see the 'Library' option in this list.
  • Select Library, then in the finder window that opens you should be able to navigate to the required path

I hope this clears things up :)

FWIW, if you want you can override this hiding of the per user Library folder as follows:

  1. In Finder, go to your home folder
  2. From the View menu select "Show View Options" or use the keyboard shortcut (CMD+J)
  3. At the bottom of the window that opens, enable the "Show Library Folder" option.

Do that & the Library folder will appear in the Finder > Go menu & this will also enable the CMD+Shift+L keyboard shortcut so you can quickly go to the folder in Finder.
