Dungarven
Can anyone explain what might have happened to my AffPub programme/settings please. When I create a text frame, it appears with a Section Symbol set in the frame. Clicking on the Move tool prior to creating a text frame makes no difference. I don't remember ever seeing this before. It is happening when I add new frames to old documents and also when starting a new document. I have closed down and re-booted the programme, but it still occurs. I have clicked on Reset Factory defaults, but it makes no difference. Please advise. S creen shot of Section glyph on frame.
v_kyr
Quote To show special characters (paragraph marks, spaces and breaks): From the Text menu, select Show Special Characters. See: Special characters and glyphs It's a toogle menu entry under the text menu, thus just disable the showup of such special characters! Dungarven
I have tried starting a New document using a Print Ready default with the same result, so I don't think it is anything to do with my preset template, which was based on a default. Dungarven
Thank you v_kyr! So this was just a glyph not a glitch! Whew! I didn't realize that it was normal. I know AffPub treats the document as one long section at the start, by default, so that explains that. Thanks again!
thomaso
It is a feature, not an issue. The § symbol indicates the "end of story" (see below: 1st + 3rd frame). It tells there is no more text in this frame after this symbol. If a frame does not show this symbol it can contain for instance a "Frame Break" (2nd) or is an empty frame in a linked chain of frames (4th).
