Ormhaugen
I'm about creating a book cover. The background is a one coloured frame and I want some handwritten text in a tif-file showing through the coloured frame on the front. How do I achieve that? I've attached a testfile where I tried this: I lowered the opacity in the frame letting handwritten text showing through and then tried to alter the colour in the frame to match the original colour, showing in the frame to the left (back side of the cover). But it's difficult to get the original colour. There must be another way of doing this. How can I preserve the original colour? Just darken the handwritten text (make it more black), remove it's image white background (aka make that transparent so only the text is visable, the rest shines through) and place/arrange that on top of that colored book side frame. Old Bruce
I am not sure what you mean by 'Original colour'. Colour of the PNG of the handwriting or colour of the Orange rectangle. Myself, I would put the PNG of the handwriting overtop of the orange Rectangle and set the blend mode for the handwriting layer to either Multiply or Linear Burn. Another thought occurred to me. Do you want it to look like the handwriting is on the orange coloured rectangle? Ormhaugen
Old Bruce and I seem to have posted at the same time, I didn't see your post before I answered. But your thought is correct, Old Bruce: I want it to look like the handwriting is on the orange rectangle. v_kyr's suggestion solved my problem.
