Lutz Pietschker
Inserting a hyperlink always proposes the "Hyperlink" text style for hyperlinks. How can I change this default to another (self-defined) character style - for the current document? - globally? Sorry if the answer is out here, but I could not find it even after long search. "Edit/Defaults/Save" or "Synchronise from selection" does not solve the problem (and how could it?). I tried deleting the Hypertext style in the hope that I would be prompted for the style to use, but all that happens is that the deleted "Hyperlink" style magically re-appears and is proposed for the link. GarryP
Have you tried editing the existing Hyperlink style and then using “Save Styles as Default” from the Text Styles Panel hamburger menu?
Lutz Pietschker
I did. No luck. And how should Publisher have known that I wanted to use my self-defined style for hyperlinks?
tudor
Isn't it easier to edit the default Hyperlinks style to your liking? That's what I do. It takes just a few seconds usually.
Lutz Pietschker
Yes, I suppose it is. Sigh … but thanks for the confirmation 🙂.

Maybe I do not understand the problem, but I am able to assign an existing style (which could be global or use the method tudor proposed) to the hyperlink from the Hyperlink panel. Lutz Pietschker
Yes, of course. But that means I have to do that every time I add a link. Hence the q. for setting a default.
