vib
1 - add any new object 2 - set any opaque fill color 3 - go to the appearance tab 4 - add a new fill 5 - set this new also as an opaque, set its mode to "Erase" The new object will now be transparent. As intended. But will also show a 1 pixel outline around it (regardless of zoom level). The erase fill doesn't need to be fully opaque for the bug to happen, but doing so makes it more easy to spot. I initially noticed the bug when doing a gradient fill with erase mode to gradually make only parts of the object transparent. Attached bellow are an image showing the bug and the .affinity file used to demonstrate the bug. On the image you can see an elipse with the outline and you can see the appearance setup on the left that caused the bug. (Ps: I noticed the pinned thread about outline on transparent objects caused by snapping candidates. This is not related to that. This outline with erase mode will persist in any snapping options. And most importantly, the outline will still be rendered with an exported .png) affbug02.afdesign
Staff Dan C Posted September 14, 2022 Staff Share Posted September 14, 2022 Hi @vib, Thanks for your report! I can confirm I'm able to replicate this issue in your document and have logged it with our developers - in the meantime this is occuring due to Antialiasing of the Ellipse object, which you can force off for this layer to workaround this issue. To do this, select the Ellipse object and then open the Blend Options dialog from the top of the Layers Studio. Here you can set Antialiasing to Force Off and this issue should no longer be present in the document or export. 2022-09-14 10-31-30.mp4 I hope this helps
vib
Thanks @Dan C for the report and the workaround. I've been using mask layers as a workaround instead. That provides the same end effect while letting me keep the anti-aliasing. But it's nice to have more options, thanks! Dan C
