How would I make a single letter "thicker" in Designer?

Recommended Posts

Depends on if you want to keep it's vertical scale or not? - In order to just scale it horizontaly, which would make it thicker increase it's horiz scale %value on the Characters panel, let's say to 150-180% etc. ...

... if you also want to scale it vertically, then also increase the field below the shown one with the red rect on above screengrab.

Other than that, you can size it huger/bigger, or apply/make that Y character as BOLD font etc.

Or duplicate the Y and move the selected duplicate slightly to the right with the cursor keys, which will make it thicker. Afterwards group both Y's together! ...

And I may have used a font that no one else has!

?

That will be a difficult task, as far as you don't make your own font! - Since you can identify and get nearly every font on the net.

Hi,

How would I make the Y thicker in H Y L in a textbox?  If I increase the stroke, it starts making it blacker and rounder.

Select the letter and add a stroke to it and adjust the stroke thickness.

Hi,

This is what happens when I increase the stroke width.  Even if I specify no stroke it adds one any way.  And if I make the stroke color the same color, it still does this to the letter:

Change the settings in the Stroke panel to have sharp angles instead of rounded ones. You will most likely need to increase the Mitre amount too.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
