Chris Cooper
Let me start by saying I am completely new to affinity and to product design. I work for a small brewery in the UK, and we've been creating beer labels in house for years, and the quantity we produce does not make it cost effective to work with designers, unfortunately. So, I create my labels in affinity designer, and then export that to PDF (I have a slight issue with rasterisation, but I'll come to that in another post, one thing at a time) to be sent to print. I also have an old copy of photoshop that I bought many, many years ago, which I have a psd file that allows me to import the PDF and create a nice fake mockup of the can label as though it were on an actual can, and we can use it for publicity photos, website etc... I've done the obvious and tried opening the PSD file in affinity, and unsurprisingly it doesn't work, so my question is, does anyone know where I may find a can mockup template anywhere for affinity designer? Or any recommendations on where I can go to get this PSD updated to work with designer??? Any help appreciated.

Chris Cooper
No, I didn't have that option checked in preferences, but now that I have, there's a whole new world of formatting issues to deal with... I now have loads of grey shadow like artefacts all over the place. Edited September 6, 2022 by Chris Cooper
Old Bruce
For this new problem we would need to be able to see the PhotoShop file. Chris Cooper
Not sure if this will work… file is too big to upload here. https://drive.google.com/file/d/14lAiTw8Q8j8o69HIuvZ3oWLWBYU_ObZw/view?usp=drivesdk
Old Bruce
I don't use Google so I can't sign in, and won't sign up. Others here may be able to help. Chris Cooper
Thanks for trying anyway. any idea of best places to look for other mock-ups that I may have more success with?
jfw222
There are free apps online that will covert PSD files to PNG. This may help.
Chris Cooper
Unfortunately converting to PNG doesn’t solve the issue, as it doesn’t as it won’t allow me to change the background template afterwards.
