@dhdh1, Hello and welcome to the forums.

No you cannot Save As a jpg file, but Yes, you can export it as a jpg. Just use File > Export, rather than File > Save As.

If you have been editing a jpg file and have not created any layers, then you can Select File > Save (or Control-S) and it will save as a jpg file.

If you have edited the opened JPG with layers and select menu Document > Flatten you can Save it as JPG – but with this way you can't choose any options like compression rate or colour profile, thus the saved result will have a larger file size even if the content is pretty much the same. Thus you will achieve a wanted result with Export more easily than with Save, at least regarding the file size.
