It will not allow a paragraph return at the bottom of a page:

Recommended Posts

I am doing a book, and on the bottom right-hand page the last line is a bold heading, which I do not want at the bottom:617991860_2022-09-0511_48_15-Window.png.3311bfcd13c119ad7c8ae7895c9ff695.png

So I put a paragraph return at the start of the last line, and what does it do? It forces the paragraph return onto the top of the next page. 1268409246_2022-09-0511_47_39-Window.png.0934551e197ed1034604501aae723968.png

I do not have flow settings like "keep with last" anything. I have it set for "anywhere."

Have you tried putting the paragraph break at the end of the previous line?

You have two paragraphs.

A helpful....

      and

I have had....

Check the settings for each Paragaph's Paragraph style as either of these conditions could cause this. Place the text cursor in the first line of each of them in order to check the settings.

I just checked and those two options can be overridden in a paragraph panel not just the Text Style.

We aren't seeing an awful lot with your screenshots. I would like to see the settings for the flow, and this is for both paragraphs. Place the text cursor into the first word of the first problem paragraph and select that paragraph's text style. Show the flow options. Repeat for the second paragraph.

15 minutes ago, okmike said:

the flow was set the same as shown for all, and nothing changed.

Some setting is preventing the desired result.

If you want, just copy 2-3 sample paragraphs (which have these two text styles) in a new text frame of a new document and upload that to the forum.
