NotMyFault Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 Hi, I was editing the attached file (saved with history) for leisure when it suddenly corrupted all vector layers. The issue persists after saving, rebooting Mac and trying again. All layers are shown as zero sized. Going back into history does not restore the layers. I was adding a vector layer (Layer layer borrowed from Designer) from an asset library to group vector layers, when all vector layer content vanished from rendering on canvas (and navigator panel). The former content is still visible as layer thumbnail. The file itself is not of much relevance. But this bug once again destroys my trust into Affinity Apps as reliable tools for more critical work. I would be happy if Serif is able to analyse what causes this bug, so I can avoid this to happen again. For me currently working with assets seem to be far too dangerous based on this new issue and the older one I already reported (adding assets with blur filters destroys the asset library). opel kadett.afphoto Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps. Had an OS Update last night. The steps in principle: Photo was open with multiple documents (some from opened files, some new docs / never saved). All documents / placed files stored on internal SSD I had one unsaved file open with many layers. To start fresh, I copied one pixel layer (from a PNG opened initially) and a Denise filter, then "new from clipboard" added several vector / curve layers from an asset library, added a "Layer" layer. Immediately, the content of all curve layers vanished. Only the layer thumbnail shows content. NotMyFault Posted September 5, 2022 Author Posted September 5, 2022 Just happened again. trigger: move a group layer into a layer layer. Please find asset file attached. The issue starts with adding an empty (no child) Layer layer to the asset library. If you add this to a document, it will shred all child layers. Probably just a freaking unhandled divide by zero exception for Layer layers without any child layers. 2022-09-05 13-18-20.mp4 _NMF_Designer_Goodies.afassets Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps.
