Lisbon
Let's say I fill (Edit > Fill) an image with white set to Colour blend mode. I get a grayscale version of my image. On another occasion I try do the same but I make a mistake. I forget to change the blend mode from Normal to Colour. To correct my mistake I open the fade command (Layer > Fade Fill) and change the blend mode to Colour. But, instead of grayscale, the image remains white. How do i use blend modes with the fade command? I really like this feature but it seems to be different from PS. Any help would be appreciated. Old Bruce
It is almost as though the Fade Fill is being re-applied to the newly made white colour instead of the original pixels. There seems to be similar problems with different blend modes when Fade Fill is used after a Filter is applied. If the blend mode is set to Normal and 0% is chosen to be be applied I seem to get rid of the White fill so I can start again with the fill. I guess this is a bug with different blend modes used with Fade Fill. thomaso
Also in macOS it appears not to work correctly. Different than expected in the Fade window the blend mode gets displayed as 'Normal' although it was initially assigned with 'Colour': If initially assigned with 'Normal' then Fade works with 'Luminosity' but not with 'Colour': If 'Luminosity' was corrected for Fade then it appears correctly as mode if Fade gets reopened though its fade value appears not to matter any more: Edited September 4, 2022 by thomaso text precised Lisbon 1 Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1

Thank you both for your feedback. Really appreciated.

I would call that a fairly good definition of the term Bug.
