I used Affinity three years ago. One of the issues I had with it was that there was no desktop, just the artboard/page. So there was no way to see bleed.

Has this changed now in Designer and Photo?

Hi Markeeee,

I'm not sure if I understand what you mean by desktop but in Designer you can apply a bleed via the bleed panel of the document setup window and then if you go to View > Show Bleed you should be able to see the bleed outline on canvas. Unfortunately this isn't a feature of Photo at this point in time.

Hopefully this is what you were looking for :)
Thanks
C

Right, but only if you have a Canvas, rather than Artboards :)

This is a real problem, not being able to see the object extending into the bleed area when using an Artboard. Yes we can see the bleed area but we cannot see whether or not there is anything there from the document.

@N.P.M. None of the stuff is on the artboard.

In Photoshop and Illustrator there is space around the page / artboard (possibly called the desktop?) where I can put items that won't appear on the page. For example notes, or items I might want to use at a later stage. When I used Affinity Designer and Photo a few years ago this was not possible. It wasn't possible to put anything off the page. Is. this still the case?

Of course it's possible. Maybe you had the "Clip to canvas" option enabled, so the objects outside the canvas were hidden.

It is possible in Designer and Publisher, but not in Photo.

It is possible in Photo if the document includes an artboard with the photo in it, but since you can't create an artboard in AP, you have to do that in one of the others & then open the document in AP.

artboard in Photo.afphoto

artboard in Photo.afphoto
