Guest Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 I used Affinity three years ago. One of the issues I had with it was that there was no desktop, just the artboard/page. So there was no way to see bleed. Has this changed now in Designer and Photo? Quote
Staff Callum Posted September 1, 2022 Staff Posted September 1, 2022 Hi Markeeee, I'm not sure if I understand what you mean by desktop but in Designer you can apply a bleed via the bleed panel of the document setup window and then if you go to View > Show Bleed you should be able to see the bleed outline on canvas. Unfortunately this isn't a feature of Photo at this point in time. Hopefully this is what you were looking for Thanks C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.

Right, but only if you have a Canvas, rather than Artboards Callum 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. Old Bruce Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 This is a real problem, not being able to see the object extending into the bleed area when using an Artboard. Yes we can see the bleed area but we cannot see whether or not there is anything there from the document. Old Bruce Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 @N.P.M. None of the stuff is on the artboard. For example notes, or items I might want to use at a later stage. When I used Affinity Designer and Photo a few years ago this was not possible. It wasn't possible to put anything off the page. Is. this still the case? Quote

It is possible in Photo if the document includes an artboard with the photo in it, but since you can't create an artboard in AP, you have to do that in one of the others & then open the document in AP. artboard in Photo.afphoto artboard in Photo.afphoto Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.6 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 All 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.7
