Hi there

I have a question regarding backing up or saving files to an external hard drive.
I'm using Affinity Designer for iPad and my storage is now full.

Basically this is a very simple question, but the iPad's OS, which is supposed to be as user-friendly as possible, sometimes confuses me, because of that :)

I'm not sure, how I can save my files to an external hard drive.
Is it possible to just copy the folder, where files are saved to? And if I need to reopen a file, which is not in this default folder, how can I access it?

Thank you! And ave a great day :)

Hi @Y..— welcome to the forums,

Affinity Designer saves files to the 'Affinity Designer' folder in the Files app by default. If you want to save a  backup copy of your entire folder, you could try the below:

In Files, press down on the 'Affinity Designer' folder and select 'Compress'. The .zip version of the file can then be moved to a different location E.G an external drive and then extracted.

If you want to open a file which isn't saved in the default location, go to 'Open From Cloud' when starting a new file in Designer and then navigate to its location in Files.

@Y..—Note, autosave does not save to this folder. You need to use the Save function in menu options. You will need to name your files so you can identify them later.
