Staff Dan C Posted August 30, 2022 Staff Share Posted August 30, 2022 Hi @abra100pro, Thanks for your report and I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble! I can see in your screen recording that the location of the images you are trying to merge are in a "Dropbox" folder, which I assume is synced with the Cloud. We're aware of issues when using the Export Persona to Cloud folders which causes the Affinity app to 'hang' so it's certainly possible this is also happening when Data Merging. Can you please confirm for me, if you copy these images to a non-cloud synced folder and change the links within the Data Merge document, does this stop the app from hanging when generating the merged document? Are your Dropbox images 'Cloud only', or are they also synced locally on your machine? As it's possible whilst we queue up the download, the app becomes not responding until the download is finished. Many thanks in advance Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time. abra100pro
Yes, it is on DropBox. I copied everything to my desktop, changed URL and tried again with the same problem. I zipped the file and I can upload it to your Dropbox, if you send me a link to it before Thursday afternoon.

Staff Dan C Posted August 31, 2022 Staff Share Posted August 31, 2022 No problem at all, many thanks for providing that for me! I can confirm this is due to your document using Artboards - as I have been informed there is a known bug that causes Data Merge to freeze when used on an Artboard document. If you open the file, the navigate to the Pages Studio, you should see the option to convert the Artboards to Spreads. Once converted, run the Data Merge once again, in my testing the merged document is then created almost instantaneously. This issue is logged with our developers, so I'll be sure to 'bump' this with them now. I hope this helps Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.
