walt.farrell Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. This is not a bug, as far as I know, but simply the way macOS and its applications work. You only closed the open document, not the application itself. If you look at the menu at the top of the screen, it shows that Affinity Photo is still active. You can use the menu actions to Close (Quit?) Affinity itself, or to create a new document, or open an existing one. You could switch to it from another sonication by using the dock. However, as the menu shows it's the currently active application. That's why the dock doesn't work; you're already there. If you Open or switch to a different application, then the dock will work as you expect. The application is not going to bring up an empty view (which you closed) it is going to wait for you to ask it to do something. Make a new file by using Command + New or the File menu. Or open a document by using Command + O or the File menu. Most apps will show the startup window (or home screen) after you close it and try to open it again, even if you didn't do anything before. But Affinity Photo wouldn't. 屏幕录制2022-08-29 23.56.52.mov Edited August 30, 2022 by CyberspaceRover Quote

debraspicher Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 It's an ugly-ish solution to bringing back up the app with just a menu context, but iirc PS worked similarly. It just had toolbars so it looked like more was going on. I'm jealous. I wish we could go background-less in Windows. So zen. Quote
