Nadar
Hi 😉 I have an issue to cut out a picture in AF. i have a picture that is already cut out and I'd like to refine the border that is too roughly cutt off.  -I cut oitbthe part of my border image that is not well cutt off with intelligent brush. -I click on "refine the selection " (the last icon down on the left): the picture become red except the selection area. -In the lower black pallet I "adjust" and I select "new layer with mask" -I click on "apply" : The selection remains around the picture…something went wrong somewhere. Can anyone tell me when I was wrong ? Or what I forgot ? Thanks As can be seen on the screen shots attached , I can't delete the selection… When I draw over it with my finger it doesn't work.  Quote Ipad Affinity Photo

Nadar
Thanks 😉 Indeed I had already seen this tutorial and when I use it, it works very well. My problem is a little different : I do not select a whole image as the woolf on the tutorial but a part of it  as we see on screenshots (the white and grey shape) I mean the edge of the hair that was selected by the dotted lines. And in this way, it does not work. Quote Ipad Affinity Photo
PaulEC
If I understand the problem correctly, I think you need to be selecting the main figure (as you would normally to cut it out), rather than just the bit that you want to refine. (At the moment you are only selecting the area you want to remove/refine, rather than also selecting what you want to keep.) Nadar
Thanks Paul 😉 I tried it, but it doesn't work either : the part is impossible to erase with the finger or the pencil. I tried something else : I left the refine option and I used the eraser to erase this part. It works, but is not perfect.
