P.O. Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 (edited) Hello all, I seem completely unable to operate the Expand/Collabse buttons in Affinity Designer (v1.10.5.1342. Win10 pro x64). I've noticed this before when running the application on an earlier workstation running Win7 pro x64 but I brushed it off as a possible incompatibility with the older OS. However with a completely rebuilt machine (with the only common component with the previous one being the video card) the same thing is happening again. The right click access to this function works as expected, which means that it is purely a UI behavior issue ... which greatly reduces the usability of the software. Some footage showing the unresponsive clicks : The only thing I can still think of would be to completely disable my secondary displays to see if my multimonitor setup is the culprit, but that would be wild considering that the target audience of a software like Designer is the most likely to use multiple displays ... Video card is a GTX 1070 running driver 516.94. Edited August 28, 2022 by P.O. Quote
P.O. Posted August 28, 2022 Author Posted August 28, 2022 (edited) On a side note, I should probably add that actions like renaming layers/groups as well as checking/unchecking the display tick boxes are also completely unresponsive. Also, even though that wouldn't be ideal I would be fine with navigating the Layer tree and expanding groups with the arrow keys or similar. So if that is a possible workaround please let me know. It will help the Devs narrow down the problem if this is the cause Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. P.O. Posted August 28, 2022 Author Posted August 28, 2022 (edited) Hello and thank you so much for chiming in ! Unfortunately swapping the rendering engine didn't help (and switching Cuda on and off didn't either). As for the multiple displays : you are of course making a fair point, hence I just tried it, disabling all 2 extended monitors and only keeping my main but that didn't change anything. I could still try to unplug the VR headset which is also plugged in (but not shown in the display manager when not turned on) so I'll definitely try that too, although this honestly seems even more unlikely to the be the cause imho. After all the mouse location is being properly detected the whole time, only the clicks are being ignored. Sure enough this must have happened to someone else ? (I've now re-posted this in the bug section since this is definitely one, but I'll keep this original thread here in case anyone has suggestions for workarounds). Edited August 28, 2022 by P.O. Quote
