Missing New Pattern Layer option

Hi, I want to create a new pattern layer but there's the option is missing in the Layers menu. I've tried all the personas and all the different file defaults but it's never an option. Is there a toggle for this? I'm running v 1.8.2.641 on Win 11 on a new Dell XPS2500.

This is driving me crazy - any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @AshleyH welcome to the forums,

Have you tried updating Photo to the latest version (1.10.5)? The Pattern layer option should then be visible, it looks like this was added around 1.9.
