We have book layouts that are ordered 1 - X, the layout is 1,  2-3, 4-5, 6-7 to the last page.  We can add a black page if we need to.

The pages are 5.5 x 8.5 and will be printed on 8.5 x 11 paper and then cut in half  then the  two stacks combined on one the other (not sorted out  page by page)  we are using a laser printer with a duplex (double sided print) ability.

Do they have to be manually reordered so that the 2nd half of the page is in order

so that pages 1 is on a side with 2 on the back, and next paper 3 with 4 on back, but not he opposite side is say page 51 with 52 on back then 53 with 54 on back so that it can be cut in two and the two stacks combined.

I managed to print so they could be cut but then you would have to manually combine them page by page to have them in the right order.

I believe imposition type software can do this not sure if it can be done within publisher without doing a re-layout.

I saw another post similar but didnt want to hijack the thread/

How about the attached printing dialogue setup? Works even with non-facing pages.
