Why do nodes still appear to snap to something when I have disabled Snapping?

If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed!

Do you have Force Pixel Alignment enabled on the Snapping drop down?  That will always force the node to 'snap' to a whole pixel, if you untick it, you'll see you can move the nodes more freely.

No I don't but it shows it hightlighted without the tick box when snapping is OFF.

The Force Pixel Alignment is a separate option from the rest of the snapping options, for example you can just have that enabled and the rest of snapping disabled.  So its correct its selectable when the other snapping options are disabled.  It also has its own icon on the Toolbar.

So if you had that unticked and snapping disabled, you shouldn't be snapping to anything.  Can you provide a screen recording showing your snapping options and also you moving a node and it still being snapped.

Hi. I've actually ever recorded anything on Affinity before and so do not know how to do it. Sorry for my ignorance. However I can assure you that there is an attempt to still snap to something.

Attached is a screenshot of the Snapping panel.

To record your screen on Mac, see this webpage: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT208721 :)   Without seeing the issue, its hard to say what could be causing it.  As your snapping options are disabled, you shouldn't be getting any snapping that i'm aware of and when i turn off snapping, i get just that, no snapping.
