awakenedbyowls Posted August 23, 2022 Posted August 23, 2022 This is happening so much now it's doing my head in, and this might be something I've raised previously - just haven't done any designer work for a while. It's happening in Vector Mode: Working with the Node Tool and the next thing it's selecting the Move Tool. Pixel Mode: I'm doing some Paint Brush work and the next thing no pixels are getting laid down because it's moved to the Eraser tool. I'm using a drawing glove. What is this some function I'm hitting somehow without realising it? Or a bug? ps. the app crashed on me yesterday again (second time recently) but I'm making a point of saving constantly - because I don't really trust the autosave feature (maybe I should but unless I see something saving I don't feel confident) Also finding when I click on save it's not saving to the location it should and in order to get a most up to date save I have to save it as something else!

By default, Affinity iPadOS apps set a shortcut action when double tapping this Pencil button and these shortcuts align with the tool behaviour you've described. You can disable this option under Settings > Pencil, or if you wish to use this function but change the tools it changes between, you can also set this here. I can confirm our team are aware of issues with the 'Save' option from the document menu when editing the file directly, however if you return to the homescreen and use the Save option from the '3 tier' menu, it should save the document as expected. I looked under Settings > Pencil and low and behold the two modes it keeps defaulting to were the ones set to Double Tap. I think I may have had this issue previously and forgot - and I have since upgraded my iPad so this may be why the problem has resurfaced. Will keep an eye on the other issues - in the meantime I'm exercising maximum levels of paranoia about losing work to the situation. Cheers.
