Drag-selecting across multiple layers

Hi,

I would find very 'natural' to be able to drag a lazo around several objects in various layers, and have them selected. Whole objects with the Move tool, and individual nodes with the Nodes tool.

I understand this may have been prevented to avoid unwanted changes in the unselected layers. However, this doesn't happen even when enabling all layers for editing.

Using a modifier while dragging could work. Or, one could let it behave this way when Edit Multiple Layers is enabled.
