Susan220263 Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 Hi I teach Craftartist and now I am using Affinity designer in a similar way for crafters. The tool picker had a gradient pick option in Cap. Is this available anywhere in Affinity. Quote
Staff EmT Posted August 22, 2022 Staff Posted August 22, 2022 Hi @Susan220263 You can use the Fill tool to apply gradients to a shape. If you wish to apply this gradient to another object, copy the object, select the new object and then select Edit > Paste Style. I hope that helps. Susan220263 Posted August 22, 2022 Author Posted August 22, 2022 Hi EmT thank you for the time to answer but it is not the same, What I am after is : In Craftartist by serif, we click the picker over an image and if gragient is selected, it picks up all colours from one side to the next the fill box next to the picker is lined with all the colours. Using the fill tool you can than turn it around to create beautiful effects. As craft artist was dropped to get this amazing software I am surprised they did not keep such a good tool. Quote

CraftArtist 2 offers four types of colour picker, one of which is the Gradient Sampler. http://dl.serif.com/pdfs/craftartist2.pdf#page206 Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.5.1 (iPad 7th gen)

That feature in not available in the Affinity apps, you can copy and paste a gradient as above or manually create a gradient. You can also create a colour palette from an image by going to Swatches > Options menu > Create Palette From Image You may wish to request the Gradient Sampler feature to be considered being add in future version, by creating a new post in the Feature Requests and Suggestions section of the forum.
