Affinity photo not responding when closing a document

I just installed affinity photo and used it for an entire day and it was so good then the next day when I try to use it it keeps not responding when trying to close or open a document 

(I tried turning off hardware acceleration and it did nothing )

Where are the file store that you are opening?  Are they stored on a local drive, Cloud service like iCloud, network drive or a USB/External drive?

Also which version of MacOS are you running?

the files are stored in iCloud Drive but they are downloaded and I am running the latest macOS Monterey 

tried opening the same file from my Mac store instead and it still have the same problem

It's odd as when i try the same workflow on my MacBook, with the same OS and i've no issues.

Could you attach a screen recording of the issue?  To record your screen, see this link, i might be able to spot something from it.  But if you could show your whole workflow, from opening and closing, that will be a big help
