I was already worried that your ubiquitous marketing campaign would be missing from this thread.

The new updates will give me plenty of new material in affinity to test and talk about after years of almost no updates. So you might get less  VS talk.. Maybe... I don't want to let you down and stop discussing VS entirely 😂

I've been doing CG for about 33 years now. I try not to get too excited about upgrade hype anymore. Too easy to get burnt if you do. These upgrades can't be everything to everybody. If only one or two of my wish list features gets added then I'll be happy. I'm one of those people who knows how to accomplish what I want with as few "shiny" features as possible.

TBH, I could still happily chug along with Photoshop v7 if somebody asked me to. When I request a feature, it's usually to fill a preexisting gap and avoid me having to add another program to the mix. Bells & whistles? Meh.

U2 fans will get this. For me, I try to live and work according to one basic motto: The only baggage you can bring is all that you can't leave behind.

That would make me very happy. But I'm afraid it will only be the promised and long-awaited APublisher for iPad.

Affinity Store: Affinity Suite (ADe, APh, APu) 1.10.5.1342, 2.0.0.
Dell OptiPlex 7060, i5-8500 3.00 GHz, 16 GB, Intel UHD Graphics 630, Dell P2417H 1920 x 1080, Windows 11 Pro, Version 22H2, Build 22621.1105.
Dell Latitude E5570, i5-6440HQ 2.60 GHz, 8 GB, Intel HD Graphics 530, 1920 x 1080, Windows 10 Pro, Version 21H1, Build 19043.2130.

I zoom with my mouse wheel, a quick & simple setting!

Yep. Apart from that, setting the Corner Tool in Designer to C because I can click the Contour tool on the rare occasions I need it.

I am hoping Designer 2 gets Vector Blend and Vector Free transform (plus all the other things everyone else wants, of course). I don't know what to expect from Photo 2, I found Photo 1 confusing with its lack of silver halide emulsion and waiting two hours for Boots the chemist to mess up a perfectly good photo shoot. I jest, of course.

My idea for Something Big:
    Designer:
All vector all the time. Printed pages will be able to have video and/or audio play, plus they will be stretchable in all three dimensions. From postcard size to billboard size just by tugging on the corners of the paper.
    Photo:
The artificial intelligence engine will allow us to ask the application to generate a photograph of "my parents when they were in their twenties coming out of a movie theatre that is showing "The Lady Killers" in London in 1955" This will be in colour or Black and White.
    Publisher:
We will be able to make a new Publisher file and ask for a second (or third) novel by Alain-Fournier to be written (and translated into any existing or extinct language). Or an annual report could be generated by just saying out loud "Adobe, Annual Report, 2024".
And finally, I can load that Photo document of my parents into any 3D printer and get a life-size statue made. Or I could load the Alain-Fournier novel into it and get a book that is produced using 1920's technology, right down to the ink and the fibres in the paper.

All of this running on a Raspberry Pi.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 11.7.3
Affinity Designer 2.0.4 | Affinity Photo 2.0.4 | Affinity Publisher 2.0.4 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Everything else can be expected from Serif next week, but I think the Raspberry is already a little impossible (that will only happen with the first free update).

I have Apub but don't really need or use it so unsure as to whether I will get ver 2.

Will defo get AP & AD so I'm hoping the studio link in ver 1 APub will work with ver 2 of AP & AD.

Let's hope the sales/download system doesn't crash from being overloaded as judging from the posts I've seen there is a virtual queue building up already.

In the presentation, there was mention of Affinity as a suite of programs. Could we see a unified installer a la Office or CorelDraw? Purchase Affinity Suite V 2.0 for say $120/£120. Or buy each separate prog, Designer, Photo and Publisher for $50/£50 each. I would also like to see something lie 'Affinity Web'. A web design prog based on the graphics capabilities of Designer and Photo. With the page layout abilities of Publisher.

I'm really hoping for greater integration.  I use Publisher for almost everything simply because of the better integration.

What would be ideal is being able to create a custom perspective with all the tools you want from any of the 3 programs.

Affinity is already classed as a suite but only sold as 3 individual programs. While what you say can't be ruled out there is a big market for just AP (photographers) and just AD (budding designers) and a big market for all 3. Serif offers are already good value & I can't see them giving further discounts if you buy all 3 in a 'half price sale'

Affinity Photo
1.10.6; Affinity Designer 1.10.6; & all 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.7

Is your last name Wayne? And what are your feelings on bats?

Not Wayne even though I truly loved Adam West, Burt Ward et al's version of the show.

The only bats I know are the ones residing in my belfry, they are from Walt Kelly's Pogo. I like them a lot.

Huge fan of Kato from the Green Hornet. Played by the late great Bruce Lee.
