Set single block colour for Paint Brush Tool

There's probably a real simple answer for this that escapes me.

I'm cartooning and colouring in different sections of the image. When I have to change brush size to get into the corners I find that overlapping what I've already coloured in increases the colour strength like if I was using watercolours. Like each stroke adds a 33% opacity until I get a solid colour (see grey coloured area in attached image).  I'm using the Basic brushes.

What is the setting for brushes which paints the 100% final colour every time I brush an area so I don't get the overlaid brush stroke effect?

Check the Flow setting for the brush you are using. If Flow is set to say 10% then you will need to paint over the same area ten times to create 100% of the solid colour, if it's set to 20% then five times to create 100% of the solid colour and so on. Set Flow to 100% and see if that gives you what you need...

Also check the Wet Edges setting and make sure it's off. And Opacity should be 100%.

and the Blend Mode should be set to Normal!

That's the one! Thank you. The default was Don't set wet edges which I thought would default to off.

Now set to Normal. Prior it was Don't set blend mode which I thought wouldn't impact the tool and once I set the wet edges to OFF I saw these settings of Don't set... actually have some kind of setting, possibly automatic which I'll have to look into. Thanks for this.

Thanks for this. It was set to 100% and I tested it at 36% and could certainly see how that could produce a similar result. I've learnt something new.
