Can the Photoshop "Pixelate -> Crystalize" effect be imitated?

As long you don't show a pic: Have you tried the "Voronoy" filter?

That's pretty much it just looks a bit less nice than Photoshop's version. (Or it requires a bit of extra tweaking)

Is there a reason it would be under colors? Seem unintuitive to me.

And thanks for the help!

I can't follow. To me the result occurs visually on the level of the colours, not below, under or above. Which "it" would be "under colours", and where is this "under"?

I really don't know where I would place that filter. I guess it does work with 'colours' so that category is okay. So it isn't precisely not counter unintuitive....

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

"Don't we all work with colours?"

At first I was looking for Voronoy in Distort. Now it feels fine it's grouped with Halftone since both create a kind of raster/grid + differ massively from Noise and especially from Perspective. I am glad there is no Miscellaneous!

One of the reasons I am never put in charge of anything is that If I was tasked with making the categories for the filters there would be only one: Miscellaneous.
