jonathanm0
Hi everyone. I am new to Photo editing and do not have much experience with Affinity Photo or equivalent. I am trying to convert a 32 bit exr image from Texturing XYZ to 16 bit tiff for use in 3d applications. My instructor has set requirements that the background colour must be set to a value of 50. When I convert my exr to tiff by using the export feature, my value then jumps to 74 as illustrated in the attached screenshot. It was also suggested that perhaps my colour profile was somehow switched. Is there a way to maintain the value of 50 when exporting/converting to tiff? Or will I have to somehow process this manually? Thank you kindly.
Lisbon
Hi @jonathanm0 Im definitely not the most qualified person to answer this question, but I think that after converting to RGB 16, you need to adjust gamma. Unfortunately, with this method, I didnt exactly get a value of 50, but of 51. Is this a problem jonathan? There is another way you can try. But I dont know if you can incorporate it into your workflow. While in 32-bit, fill a pixel layer with any color and apply this procedural texture: This implies that, in 32 bit, you work with a gray of 22. Gray 22, after conversion to RGB 16, will be accurately translated to gray 50.
