MAELSTROM
Dear all, I am trying to create a simple vector shape logo, however when I use the divide boolean tool to erase certain parts of shapes I get a very thin white space between the divided shapes. I am probably doing this wrong, however would like to know if there is a way of dividing or erasing certain parts of shapes places on each other without this space as it is not as crisp as i would like. I have attached a photo to show what I mean. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks :-)
Staff MEB Posted December 29, 2015 Staff Share Posted December 29, 2015 Hi MAELSTROM, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) That's due to the antialiasing. The thin white lines you're seeing are the result of the antialiased shape's boundaries against the white background. All software behave like this to a greater or lesser extent. You can use a thin stroke to help hiding those lines or place a black object behind them. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
A_B_C
And don’t forget … after deleting the parts that are irrelevant to your design, you can add the remaining parts together again, thereby getting rid of adjacent shape borders and the undesired antialiasing artifacts … I mean, as long as you intend to give all parts of your logo the same colour … :)

Thank you both for your reply
