Painting in masks no longer possible

Recommended Posts

Good Morning!

For two days I can no longer work with the Brush in Masks. Ev. I have adjusted something without noticing it, but I can no longer find where I can change it.
I can work with a black Brush directly on an Image, the Area becomes black. But if I create a white Mask with e.g. a Curves-Adjustment on an Image, the black Brush has no Effect anymore. By the same Token, the white Brush has no Effect on a black Mask. Furthermore I don't see any Brush-Marks on the Mask anymore.

Does anyone have an Idea what this could be due to?

Thanks and best Regards

Martin

There can be a few reasons but first check that Protect Alpha in the context toolbar for the brush is not on

If not that, please upload a full screen screenshot showing the layers panel, colour panel and the brush selected

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

Hi Carl, quick and easy - that's it. The Check-Mark was set, and I didn't have it on my Focus. Thanks for the quick help!

Best Regards

Martin
